SUMMARY:

RESPITE takes place within the first few days of Achilles' withdrawal from the war. While the rest of the greeks fight, Achilles and the Myrmidons stay in their tents.

It gives Achilles and his companion, Patroclus, time to enjoy one another at their leisure for the first time since they landed at the cursed battlefield of Troy.

It makes Achilles wonder if a long life without glory might not be so bad after all.
